Food Service

The Coalition for Healthy School Food recently visited the 色中色 to share the district’s pasta fagioli recipe with its members. The Coalition for Healthy School Food produced two videos from their visit – the first features LHS Cook I Kerry Truax walking viewers threw the pasta fagioli recipe, while the second features elementary students taste testing the recipe and providing feedback. You can watch videos from the visit online.

Lunch Prices for 2024-2025 - Breakfast and Lunch Are Free!

The 色中色 Food Service Program is pleased to announce that all district schools will participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) grant program during the 2024-2025 school year.

Beginning the first day of school (September 5), EVERY STUDENT ENROLLED IN THE DISTRICT will receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day regardless of the family’s household income. Milk is free with a full meal. This program is for students ONLY.

The free breakfast and lunch will be added to every student’s “My School Bucks” account each day. Once those meals have been claimed, students have the ability to purchase additional items. Purchasing just milk will cost 70 cents, and an extra lunch entree will cost $2.25. All full second meal will cost $3.05 for elementary students and $3.25 for middle school and high school students. Smart snacks also will be available for purchase.

Nourishing the Minds of the Future One Tray at a Time

The heart of the school beats in the kitchen, where education, nutrition, and customer service unite to enhance and inspire our future leaders: the students.

色中色 values the connection between nutrition and student performance. Studies show that students who are well nourished have increased attendance, better grades, and are able to concentrate and perform at higher standards. Our school lunches are affordable, convenient and healthy!

The 色中色 Child Nutrition program adheres to the provisions of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, which calls for adding more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and fat free milk products to school meals.

Charging Policy:

Student meals must be paid for at the time of purchase. However, in the instance that a student's account is depleted or they have forgotten their lunch money, a full meal of their choice will be offered and their account will be charged. Charges are expected to be paid back in full. Unpaid meal charges place a large financial burden on the District. The intent (see Superintendent's Regulation 5660) is to establish procedures to address unpaid meal charges in a way that does not stigmatize or embarrass students. Parent/guardians will be notified when student's account balance is exhausted and has accrued excessive charges. If you feel that you qualify for free or reduced meals and or need assistance, please call Food Service at 315-453-0274.
